NRA Instructor Certification

This is the course one needs in order to become an NRA Certified Instructor in Basic Pistol. Successful completion of this workshop allows one to register with the State Police and teach Concealed Handgun Training Courses in Louisiana. $450

In the fall of 2004, Colonel Daniel McLemore was deployed to Bagdad, Iraq in support of operation Iraqi Freedom. He left his four children, Cody, Cade, Danielle, and Nathan, in the care of his lovely young wife, Dr. Tracy McLemore.

Taking the care and protection of her family very seriously, Tracy purchased a S&W .38 special with plans to brush up on her shooting skills and get a permit to carry it.

Finding quality handgun training in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area proved difficult, and Tracy, Daniel, and Matthew Courtney, a family friend, decided that they should work to make such training available to area residents in the future.

Shortly after Daniel's return from the war, Louisiana Shooters Unlimited was born.
